As reported by Billboard, Adele was also interviewed on the Today show by Matt Lauer, who asked her about being a mother and the response to her album ’25’ which has broken the first week sales record in the US and is on course to become the fastest selling UK album of all time.
“It’s pretty overwhelming, but it’s incredible,” Adele said. “My son comes everywhere with me,” she continued. “He’s the first person I see in the morning and last person I see at night. I make time for him, like I always have. That’s one of the reasons I’ve been away [from the industry] for so long. My kid is more important. My kid comes first; my music comes second.”
’25’ went to number one in 106 countries on the day of its release, with Adele releasing the following statement:
“This feels like such a long time coming, my new album is finally out. I am so overwhelmed and grateful to be able to even put another record out, and put it out how I want. The last month has been a whirlwind, it’s literally taken my breath away. I hope you enjoy the record as much as I enjoyed making it for you.”
The album is not set to appear on streaming sites like Spotify at present.
Users are greeted with the following message when they try to listen to the record: “The artist or their representatives have decided not to release this album on Spotify just yet. We’re working on it and hope we can change their minds soon.”
A spokesperson for the streaming service added: “We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify. We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy ’25’ on Spotify alongside ’19’ and ’21’ very soon.”
The ’25’ tracklist is as follows:
‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’
‘I Miss You’
‘When We Were Young’
‘Water Under The Bridge’
‘Love In The Dark’
‘Million Years Ago’
‘All I Ask’
